Updating Qasper 

For Workgroup users:

a. Have the administrator log in. This will automatically display the Administration module.

1. Click the [Updates] tab.
2. Enter the registration code and purchaser email address.
3. Click [Check to Qasper system updates].

After the update completes:

 

4. Close Qasper and log in again.
5. From the Administration module, click the [Updates] tab.
6. Click [Check for database updates].

Workgroup administrator: Close Qasper.

For Personal users

a. Log in as usual
b. From the Home Page, click [Admin] on the left-side menu, then [Admin] again to launch the Administration module.

Updating Qasper's Desktop applications

Go to Qasper Updates

Download latest version 

 

 

NOTE: it's unlikely you have to download the full version to get updates. Instead, go to Qasper's Administration module (if you are running the workgroup/corporate version, you will have to be logged in as administrator to do this), click the [Updates] tab and follow the instructions under Check Qasper central for system updates.

NOTE: For full updates, uninstall the existing version of Qasper before installing the latest version. Your database and settings will not be disturbed.

Uninstall problems 

If your uninstall does not complete successfully, try one of the free uninstallers.

Installation issues

1. Update error:  

Error in apply updates: The located assembly's manifest definition with name 'ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib' does not match the assembly reference. - contact the system administrator.

Reason: the library you have that unzips our updates is outdated or incorrect:

a. Click here to download a current version of the required file:  ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.dll.

b. Go to the folder containing the existing version. Typically that is:

   Qasper Personal:

c:\Users\Public\Program Files\Dalco\Qasper\Qasper Offline\Qasper Organizer\bin

   Qasper Corporate (workgroup):

Go to web folder of your Qasper installation and locate the \bin folder containing the ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.dll file.

 

c. Delete the ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.dll file in the \bin folder.

d. Copy or move the ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.dll file that you downloaded in a. above into the \bin folder.

e. Try the update again. If you still have difficulties, contact us.

2. Can't install Qasper Cassini web server (applies to Personal and Offline versions)?

3. .NET Framework required

If you get an error running Qasper that cites a requirement for Microsoft's .NET Framework Version 1.1, click here to download it.

4. Windows Installer required.

If the installation is unable to locate Microsoft Windows Installer, click here to download it.

5. Vista installation issues? Try this:

a. Install the two service packs specified at:

http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/vstudio/aa948853.aspx?lcid=1033 

b. Open the Control Panel, type "uac" in the search box, click the "Turn User Account Control (UAC) on or off" link under "User Accounts", and turn UAC "off".

c. Open the Control Panel, click Programs, and click the "Turn Windows features on or off" link under "Programs and Features". Expand Internet Information Services, select "Web Management Tools" (everything underneath) and "World Wide Web Services" (everything underneath).

d. Restart the installation.

6. The  Personal Version installation is not working. Try this:

Uninstall all the installation programs associated with Qasper. Some of the following may not exist on your computer, so just uninstall the ones you do find.

a. Select Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove programs (or, in Vista, Start > Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a program).

b. Uninstall:

- Cassini Qasper Web Server

- Qasper Personal

- Qasper Personal (Vista compliant)

- UltiDev Cassini Web Server Explorer

- UltiDev Cassini Web Server for ASP.NET 1.1

c. Reboot your computer. 

d. Contact us to obtain the latest Personal Version.

e. Install the Personal Version.
